The FBA shipment is not done at the port

The port is a midpoint, not the finish line

For Amazon FBA inventory, a container or air shipment is only useful once cartons are accepted at the assigned fulfilment centre. The final workflow still includes prep verification, FNSKU and carton labels, customs release, delivery booking, and proof of delivery.

A port-to-port or airport-to-airport quote leaves those handoffs open. That can turn a nominally cheap freight option into an avoidable receiving delay.

Lock the carton data before dispatch

Use the final shipment plan to check FNSKU labels, carton counts, dimensions, weights, pallet rules, and destination IDs. Keep photos and a carton map with the shipment record so the parties handling final-mile delivery are working from the same data.

If the fulfilment centre changes after the cargo is packed, update the delivery plan before dispatch. That is the moment to re-price routing or appointments, not after the shipment arrives.

Quote the delivery handoff explicitly

Confirm who is responsible for customs, terminal collection, pallet exchange if needed, appointment booking, and rejection handling. The forwarder, destination carrier, and warehouse should each have a visible role before the shipment begins moving.
