Auto parts shipping from China, timed to the line and not just the port.

Aftermarket parts, CKD and SKD kits, and line-side components from Guangzhou, Ningbo, and Tianjin. An automotive freight forwarder is judged on cadence: we plan the shipping rhythm, the corrosion protection, and the customs path around your production takt or selling season.

Cargo profile

Parts freight is a rhythm problem before it is a rate problem.

Automotive shipping from China succeeds when arrivals match consumption. The cargo type decides how that rhythm is built.

Aftermarket parts

Mixed part numbers consolidated into one booking, with HS codes mapped per line item to keep the entry clean.

Multi-SKUHS mapping

CKD / SKD kits

Kits shipped complete, so an assembly line never opens a container to find one part number short.

Heavy components

Engines, axles, and castings where weight distribution across the container decides the loading plan.

Line-down parts

Air freight for a stopped line, running alongside the planned ocean cadence rather than replacing it.

Where parts programmes break

Three failures that stop a line.

Kit integrity

An incomplete kit

A CKD container missing one part number is worth nothing to an assembly line. Carton contents are reconciled against the kit list before the container is sealed.

Protection

Corrosion on machined surfaces

Bare machined steel and a humid 30-day ocean leg do not mix. VCI film and desiccant are specified at intake, not improvised by the supplier.

Cadence

Cadence drift

A programme that slips from weekly to whenever-it-is-full turns into either stockout or storage cost. The sailing rhythm is booked ahead against consumption.

Kit & cadence checks

What we verify before an automotive booking repeats.

Automotive programmes run for months. These checkpoints are what keep shipment number twelve as clean as shipment number one.

Programme workflow

Map, pack, ship, receive — then repeat it.

The first shipment sets the pattern. Every one after it should be the same shipment with different dates.

01 — Map

Classify the part list

Every part number is mapped to an HS code and checked for duty exposure, so a mixed container does not stall on one line item.

02 — Pack

Protect and reconcile

Corrosion protection is specified per part type, and kit cartons are reconciled against the kit list before sealing.

03 — Ship

Hold the cadence

Space is booked ahead on a fixed rhythm matched to consumption, with air available alongside it for line-down exceptions.

04 — Receive

Deliver to the window

Customs, drayage, and the plant or 3PL appointment are coordinated so arrival matches the receiving window.

FAQ

Auto parts shipping FAQ

Kit integrity, corrosion, cadence, and what to do when the line stops.

Can you ship CKD or SKD kits from China?

Yes, and kit integrity is the part that matters. A container arriving one part number short is worth nothing to an assembly line, so carton contents are reconciled against the kit list before sealing and the manifest travels with the shipment. Multi-supplier kits are consolidated at origin so the reconciliation happens in China, where a gap can still be fixed cheaply.

How do you protect machined parts from corrosion on the ocean leg?

VCI film, desiccant, and sealed packaging specified at intake — not left to the supplier's default. Bare machined surfaces on a humid 30-plus day sailing will corrode without it, and the cost of specifying protection is trivial next to a rejected batch at the receiving plant.

Can you run a fixed weekly or monthly shipping cadence?

That is the model we recommend for parts programmes. Space is booked ahead on a rhythm matched to line takt or replenishment cycle, rather than shipping whenever a container happens to fill. A predictable cadence is what lets you hold less safety stock without risking a stockout.

What happens when the line goes down and a part is needed immediately?

The urgent part moves by air on a separate booking while the planned ocean cadence continues untouched. Accelerating an entire container to solve one part number is almost always the more expensive answer, so we split it rather than disrupting the programme.

How are duties handled on a mixed shipment of auto parts?

HS codes are mapped per line item before the entry is filed. Automotive containers routinely carry dozens of part numbers with different duty treatment, and filing them under one convenient code is what triggers a customs query and a held container. The classified part list is prepared once and reused as the programme repeats.
